In this song I use 2 new instruments I have been working with. The Celloharp and Shruti Box, All performed live.
The Celloharp is an Instrument I developed to create bowing sounds. There are 9 strings all tuned in C thirds apart. (E,G,B,D,F,A,C,E,G) The idea is to be able to play single notes or 3rds. Key wise it is a bit limiting. I plan to add a couple harp levers to change key. The Celloharp is designed as a one handed instrument I mainly use to occasionally create a new timbre along with the Stick.
The Shruti Box is a bellows reed instrument to create a drone. This instrument is used in Eastern music. I am able to play it with a foot pedal the Bowring pedal. I like this accompanying the Celloharp.
Enjoy

I tuned the smaller stick in a diatonic scale so each string is one note higher. You can see this more clearly in the beginning of the video. The idea is to pluck and tap the strings like playing a fretted harp. This gives me a new timbre to add in occasionally while playing the Stick in the left hand. This particular first piece uses this idea throughout.
It is interesting how sometimes changing the physical reflexes and the way you actuate strings adds new ideas to composition. It is fun to see where it goes.
